This place was amazing, it was a little mom and pop feel restaurant. The service was excellent, our server was very nice, explained the menu and helped us order. The pizza was AMAZING (we had the mountain) and it was so affordable compared to every other restaurant we ate at while visiting.
Would definitely come back! -

Uncle Vito's is located at the north west corner of Bush and Powell.
Being on a corner where the Powell street cable cars pass by can't be bad for business. Being in an area where there are plenty of hotels also can't be bad for business. This place seems to be quite popular but how popular by the locals I can't say because I'm not one. What I can say is I've seen this place before both last year and years ago but had never been until just recently.
I was feeling pizza which is not unusual and being that this place was a block from where we were staying I was considering just doing take out but there was seating available when we went so I thought we'd have a seat and eat in instead. The place is busy with people waiting for pick up and the dining area was pretty much full. The menu is pretty simple but it seems that their "Mountain" is the go to pizza so going with the house special seems to be a wise choice.
The Mountain comes with with salami, pepperoni, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and sausage as listed verbatim on the menu and the large which is what we ordered is 25.50. Now for a six topping large 16 inch pizza in San Francisco 25.50 I suppose is an ok deal. With so many places to eat and so many cuisines in San Francisco with the exception of Boudin's personal sized sourdough pizza, I think this was my first regular pizza I've had in this city.
While I thought the pizza was good I can honestly say without thinking too hard that it wasn't the best I've had and didn't necessarily stand out as anything that has an amalgamated rating of 4 stars. I'm not saying others are wrong but to me it was just OK. My wife didn't think it was anything that special either but it did fill my craving for pizza considering I didn't have it in like... a week.
Now I'm not saying this place is hyped but I will say that it's good but if you've had as much pizza in your life like I have this place will probably just run right down the middle as far as being memorable. The crust is about average I'd say while the toppings while generous enough are just what you'd come to expect from a safe home made pizza. -

First time for me here. Husband and oldest daughter came here for dinner on their Father-Daughter weekend and had a great time.
It's super close to our hotel do that's a plus with the little kiddos to not have to travel far.
We were too hungry that I didn't take any photos.
The place is small and no ventilation so be prepared to be a little toasty.
They have a nice menu with a variety of options besides pizzas and pasta.
We had the spaghetti with marinara sauce and it was good. Nothing too spectacular in that the sauce was lumpy and watery in some parts of the plate like the tomato paste came from a can.
We also had a medium pizza with half cheese and half mountain (like a supreme). The pizza was like a New York style where it's soggy in the main part of the pizza and the crust is crispy and would have to either eat with a fork and knife or fold it up and eat like a calzone. The cheese pizza side was loaded with cheese! My youngest love it and ate two whole pieces all by herself!
The staff was friendly and accommodating with giving us time to order. They got busy fast once 7 o'clock roll around. They have coloring sheets for kids but don't offer so it's a good thing we went to ask. Unfortunately, our youngest accidentally knocked the mug onto the floor and broke the handle off of the mug holding the crayons. Our server was pretty cool about the whole situation.
Overall, a good experience and would come back again. -

I probably wouldn't have headed into this pizza place if it wasn't for yelp. It is very tiny and dark looking from the outside. The menu posted on the window looks short and without options. HOWEVER.... once you go in you realize it is a real gem in the city.
It is definitely small so you wouldn't want to go with a large group but they are kid friendly and have high chairs if you need them.
A small pizza is enough for two people to share if you intend on eating a side as well. You can easily add toppings to their pre-made selections or build your own. The crust is mid way between thin crust and a thick. It was delicious.
My daughter had spaghetti with a side of garlic bread and it was enough for two meals for her (kids size spaghetti)
My so had a personal size pizza and gobbled it right down! -

Ok what I can I say what a great find in SF it's not very big but their food packs a flavor punch for sure. We started with the cheesy garlic bread which is yummy and since I couldn't decide what to get I got a small pie and the veggie lasagna. Their pizza is so good not greasy at all great flavor and what is nice you can order an individual pie. The veggie lasagne is so good and you can tell all the veggies down to the sauce is fresh and flavorful and I cannot wait to come back and try the Ravioli. It is only 1.5 miles from pier 39 so worth the time and walk. My daughter who is a super picky eater loved the pizza.
